Women CooperativeSociety (WCS) is involved in uplifting the economic and social status of women living both in rural and urban areas by providing prompt and easy access to financial services since its establishment in 1995. Moreover, WCS is operatingmicro financing activities under the Grameen model of Bangladesh. Under this program, WCSis providing loans to the poor and unprivileged womenliving in rural and urban areas under the group guarantee without collateral in order to raise their economic status. I believe, thisprogram is contributing a lot to raise the economic status of women by generating more income to their families and alleviating poverty through women empowerment. As a result, the participation of women is increasing in the development mainstream of the country.
